Building on the successful Inaugural and 2nd Annual Asia Pro Bono Conferences (2012 Lao PDR & 2013 Vietnam) which created opportunities for lawyers, legal professionals, law firms, academics, civil society organizations and many others, to network with potential pro bono partners and develop initiatives to meet the unmet legal needs in the region, this year’s Conference will be held in Singapore from October 2-4, 2014.
The Conference’s relevant and timely theme is “Creating vibrant pro bono ecosystems to strengthen access to justice”. As in the past, this event will model the strengths and benefits created through both national and cross-border collaborations and will be organized by BABSEA CLE, The Singapore Law Society, BABSEACLE Singapore and supported by the National University of Singapore.
This consistently proven and eagerly awaited annual Asia Pro Bono initiative will be a three-day event fostering collaborative ties to conceptualise, design, create and strengthen pro bono programmes and partnerships, locally, regionally and internationally. Learn More.
“The inaugural Asia/Asia Pro Bono Conference was held in Vientiane Lao PDR in 2012 and has since developed into an annual event. The conference is a celebration of pro bono work, where emphasis is made on its relevance and importance and where stakeholders come together to share and learn the ways pro bono ethos can be furthered regionally and globally. Singapore is delighted to host the 3rd Conference with a theme on Public-Private-People partnership(s). This 3rd Conference will take delegates on an exciting and inspiring journey through the regional pro bono ecosystem and provide an unparalleled platform to educate, learn, engage and most importantly, to foster collaborative ties. Come join us for an unique experience in Singapore.” – Mr Wendell Wong, Chairman Singapore Organising Committee
The first 2 days are located in the heart of Singapore’s bustling arts and heritage district of Bugis. On Day 3, the event continues at the National University of Singapore Faculty of Law, one of the leaders in Singapore’s pro bono movement.
This year’s Conference includes an enriched and diversified programme coupled with key local, regional and international pro bono champions, advocates and potential partners, all keen to collaborate.
