The 21st century presents to the world, especially in Asia with a complex environment. It is increasingly evident that even the most fundamental economic and social problems – from water scarcity, to access to education, health care and even the accessibility to justice will best be addressed through the collaborative efforts of businesses, government and civil society. As economic, cultural and social barriers to the justice system still exist, the access to justice will just remain an empty promise if an individual or group is denied attainable and equal access to the courts. Under his leadership and strong beliefs, the Community Justice Centre, Singapore has exemplifies how by forming strong collaborative partnerships, it is able to draw on each sector’s unique strengths and leverage on them in an organized way to meet the needs of the end user or the community.
