Jane Sanders is the principal lawyer at The Shopfront Youth Legal Centre, a free legal service for homeless young people in Sydney, Australia. The Shopfront has been operating since 1993 and is a pro bono partnership between a law firm (Herbert Smith Freehills) and two NGOs (Mission Australia and The Salvation Army). Jane represents vulnerable young people in court when they are accused of criminal offences. She also helps clients with other legal issues, including when they are victims of crime. Jane also provides legal information and training for young people, social workers, lawyers, and students.
