Senior Program Officer
Namit Wagley is a development professional and a UK trained lawyer. Mr. Wagley is the Senior Program Officer at TAF Nepal with over seven years of experience working in the development sector representing a public international organization, civil society organizations and academic institutions. At TAF, Mr. Wagley provides technical and managerial support in implementation, monitoring, and evaluation, and reporting on the thematic areas of peacebuilding, governance, rule of law/access to justice and human rights managing multiple donor-funded programs – DFAT (Australian Aid) funded post-disaster community mediation program; Governance Facility funded technical assistance on community mediation and DFAT/TAF strategic partnership on sub-national governance in Nepal.
Mr. Wagley holds a bachelor’s and master’s in law degree from the University of Sussex, U.K. He is a mediator and a Supreme Court certified master trainer in interest-based mediation. He has specialized knowledge of International law including extensive research skills in human rights, constitutional law, alternative dispute resolution, conflict transformation, and peacebuilding. At Kathmandu University School of Law, he contributes 12 hours every academic year as a visiting faculty in his area of expertise. Some of his notable publications include Universalism in Human Rights: An Analysis in the Nepal Journal of Legal Studies and Research (NJLSR) in 2016; assisted in the publications of Working Politically in Practice Series -Case Study No. 4 – Beyond the Toolkit: Supporting Peace Processes in Asia (Nepal’s Case Study) by The Asia Foundation; edited Kathmandu University School of Law: Feasibility Report and contributed numerous op-eds and articles to In Asia blog and Nepali news media outlets.
