Mohammed Hakim is a Legal Consultant and based in the DLA Piper’s Thailand office. Other than working in cross border mergers and other regional general corporate and regulatory matters, he is currently the first hybrid part time Pro Bono Associate, Asia, and Part time Corporate Associate  for DLA Piper’s Bangkok office, further enhancing DLA Piper’s already significant role in the Pro Bono drive within the region.

Mohammed Hakim has been at the center of managing, coordinating and presenting DLA Piper’s global “Know Your Rights” project which is designed to empower refugees and migrant workers on their legal rights in Mae Sot, Mae La Camp, Thailand. Together with IRC, the Know Your Rights Project has been the winner of the Thomson Reuters Trustlaw Awards 2018 “Innovation Award” in New York. Currently DLA Piper Thailand and IRC are working to further progress the project by providing training on ADR techniques to further assist them on dealing with their cases within the Camp. Other than Know Your Rights, Mohammed Hakim has played a part in starting DLA’s Global Scholarship in Bangladesh, as well as working with INGOs focusing on migrant rights, women and children rights, and the rule of law.
