Pro Bono Manager & Special Counsel at Russell Kennedy Lawyers
Emma manages the Pro Bono practice at Russell Kennedy Lawyers (RK), and leads RK’s pro bono humanitarian and refugee law practice.
She chairs the Unaccompanied Humanitarian Minor Consortium and has led RK’s legal teams in various Federal Court and High Court proceedings relating to refugee matters. Emma holds a Bachelor of Laws (Hons), Bachelor of Arts (Politics)(Hons), Master of Development Studies (Uppsala, Sweden) and Master of Public Policy and Management (Melb).
RK has a dedicated Pro Bono Lawyer and Pro Bono Committee. Clients include the Luke Batty Foundation, East Timor Hearts Fund, and Peninsula Community Legal Centre. RK runs a legal clinic in partnership with the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre and collaborates with the Refugee Council of Australia on strategic litigation.
Emma also has a commercial leasing and dispute resolution practice within RK’s property and development team.
