Jeremy Dein QC is a Criminal defence barrister. He is joint head of chambers at 25 Bedford Row, leading Criminal defence chambers, specializing all manner of domestic and international Crime (including war crime). He personally specializes in homicide, serious sexual offences, terrorism and organized crime. Jeremy is renowned for having dedicated his career to legal aid practice.
He also frequently conducts pro bono appeals against conviction and sentence in cases of maximum gravity. He is also former UK, Criminal Bar Association, Director of Education.
Jeremy lectures internationally on criminal justice, in particular the principles of fair trial and trial advocacy. He has a special interest in the development of third world criminal justice, having lectured in India ,South Korea, Sri Lanka and Hong Kong over recent years. He is a strong advocate of the jury system.
Jeremy is a frequent broadcaster on UK radio in relation to Human rights, fair trial and access to justice related issues.
He is also a part time trial judge.
