 L. Khun Ring Pan (Ricky) obtained his Bachelor of Laws degree and Masters in Business Law from Yangon University. He was admitted to the Myanmar Bar in 2005, and is currently an advocate of the Supreme Court. He co-founded the Panglong Law Firm, which specializes in Business Law and Litigation. In 2012, he started “The Legal Affairs Magazine”, the first independent legal periodical since 1988 in Myanmar, acting both as a publisher and Editor‐in‐Chief. He has worked with other lawyers, ex‐judges and government law officers in supplying legal research and advice to Members of Parliament and parliamentary committees towards legal reforms in Myanmar. Mr. Pan is an active member of the Myanmar Media Lawyers’ Network (MMLN). He is involved in MMLN’s awareness and advocacy campaign for Myanmar’s ratification of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights. He currently represents Nay Myo Zin, an activist prosecuted for political speech by Myanmar authorities.
