Retno Dewi

Retno Dewi was born and raised in the rural areas of Majenang, Cilacap of Central Java. She worked as a domestic worker in Hong Kong from 2002 to 2008. From 2008 to 2013, she was active in the Association of Indonesian Migrant Workers-ATKI Indonesia, a migrant organization based in Jakarta. In this role, she advocated for and campaigned for migrant rights and organized the member family of migrant workers in the villages of origin of migrant workers. In 2014 she moved from Jakarta to Bali and joined Indonesian Women Organization (SERUNI-Women Organization based in Bandung) to continue her commitment to amplifying the voice of women and campaigning for rural women, women migrant workers, and urban working women.
